Aaron spent 10 years as a professional rock climber representing the US at international competitions like ESPN’s X-Games. He holds many world records in rock climbing including world cups and gold medals. Aaron has helped companies like Royal Caribbean Cruise lines and Cirque De Soleil with their climbing needs. His thirst for adventure led him to run ultra marathons including a 100 mile foot race; “The Wasatch 100” he has also braved the cold waters of the San Francisco Bay to make the 2 mile, shark infested, swim from Alcatraz to Bay Beach. He unofficially holds the world record for speed pull-ups. Aaron has a Bachelors of Science in Business Management from WGU and a Master’s in Public Administration from Brigham Young University Provo. He spends time as he can enjoying his passion for rock climbing up the canyons climbing on the rocks.
Aaron served 2 years in the Padova, Italy mission. He has been married to his high school sweetheart Morgan McDonald for 22 years. They have 4 beautiful children Aisling, Austin, Arianna and McKay. Aaron opened the Wasilla Release Time seminary and the Wasilla Institute in Alaska and moved mid pandemic to the Wasatch front where he lives in Herriman and teaches at the UVU Institute. He coaches rock climbing out of his home. He serves as the Ward Temple & Family History leader and a Sunday School teacher for the 16-17 year olds and loves the young people of the church.
